Free Time Between Orders Reports for Shopify Brands

No real intro here. We’re PostPilot, a full-funnel direct mail platform, and we provide dozens of free reports out of the box when you create an account and sync your Shopify store.

(To reiterate, free. No strings attached here. No payment or credit card of any kind is required.)

Including time between orders reports (yes, reports—more than one) to tell you the exact time between your customers’ purchases and repurchases.

The Free Reports

In PostPilot’s UI, we have a dedicated section for data reporting. There are a ton of reports in there, including granular Shopify customer demographic reports and other transactional reports.

We had to at least squeeze that in. We know you’re here for one metric, though.

Here’s an example of a report showing the classic time between 1st and 2nd purchases:

Data shown is from an eight-figure Shopify brand. Data points include total # of customers and cumulative % of repeat orders in a 360-plus day span, broken into 30-day segments.

We also have time between orders reports going up to 4th and 5th orders. Look at the same brand’s report for between 4th and 5th orders:

The fascinating thing here is that many brands assume customer purchasing behavior is pretty much the same with later repurchases as it is with 1st-to-2nd purchases.

When it certainly is not. Which means thousands of offers would be more optimized based on the actual data, and potentially, many more customers could be won back.

More on Using These Reports

Same report as the first shown in this article, with cursor hovering over the 120–149 segment.

Returning to the initial report we presented, we can see that:

  • More than half (55.59%) of customers purchase before the 30-day mark.
  • Almost three-quarters (74.45%) of customers repurchase before the 60-day mark.
  • Over 90% of customers have repurchased before the 150-day mark.
  • Fewer than 1% of customers are returning after the 270-day mark.

With this knowledge, a brand might add additional more robust winback efforts (using email, direct mail, and SMS) all the way up to the 90 day mark and could probably consider a customer as likely lapsed after the 270-day mark (and potentially sooner than that).

Speaking of beefing up winbacks…

Notes: LOD = last order date (in days); NO = number of orders.
